Bob’s Company History

Bob’s is a family-owned business founded in 1970 by my grandfather, Bob Darlington, who passed it on to my parents, who passed it on to me. I was raised in the environment and was taught to cut keys and rekey locks as a kid. I began working at the shop in high school and have been here for almost thirty years.

I love caring for the family business and keeping it alive and thriving. We have 20 technicians, some of whom are family members like my cousins, uncles, sister, and daughter. Others are long-term employees who have been here for 20+ years and bring in friends and family to work with us. We’re a tight-knit team, and we all get along well and enjoy our work providing top-notch service to our customers in and around the Salt Lake City region.

All our technicians prioritize ongoing professional training and education. One of the best ways we’ve found to stay current with the ever-advancing locksmith and security industry is to attend professional training courses at IML trade shows and Just Cars Expos.
